Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is a popular non-surgical treatment that uses your body’s own growth factors to stimulate hair regrowth. It involves drawing a small sample of your blood, processing it in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets (cells rich in growth factors), and then injecting that platelet-rich plasma into your scalp. These growth factors boost blood flow and trigger natural repair in the hair follicles, helping to thicken hair and promote new growth.
What to Expect in a PRP Session: A typical PRP hair treatment visit takes about 30–45 minutes:
- Blood draw & preparation: We take a small tube of your blood and spin it in a centrifuge to separate the PRP.
- Scalp injections: After cleansing your scalp and applying a numbing agent, our specialist uses a fine needle to inject the PRP across the thinning areas of your scalp.
- Completion: The procedure is quick and you can return to your normal activities right after, with no bandages needed.
Aftercare: There is virtually no downtime with PRP. We recommend avoiding hair washing or strenuous exercise for the rest of the day to let your scalp settle. You might have mild soreness at the injection sites, but that fades within a day or two. Also, try to avoid anti-inflammatory medications for a few days (since a little inflammation helps the healing process). By the next day, you can resume your usual hair care routine.
How Many Sessions: Most people need about 3 PRP sessions, each a month apart, to see results. Noticeable improvements typically appear within 3–6 months. To maintain thicker hair, a follow-up session every 6–12 months is recommended.
Exosomes Therapy for Hair Loss
Exosome Therapy is a cutting-edge regenerative treatment that uses stem cell-derived “messenger” particles to stimulate hair follicles. Exosomes are tiny vesicles secreted by stem cells, loaded with growth factors and signals that promote healing. In hair restoration, we inject lab-prepared exosomes into your scalp to deliver these growth signals directly to the hair roots, helping to reawaken weak follicles and encourage new strands to develop.
What to Expect in an Exosome Treatment: An exosome therapy session is very similar to a PRP session, except we don’t need to draw your blood. The treatment takes around 45 minutes:
- Preparation: We cleanse your scalp and apply a local anesthetic (numbing) to ensure you’re comfortable.
- Exosome injections: The concentrated exosome serum is injected across the areas of hair thinning using fine needles. You’ll feel only mild pressure or pinpricks thanks to the numbing.
- Post-procedure: Once the injections are done, you’re free to go about your day as normal.
Aftercare: Exosome therapy has minimal downtime. Just like with PRP, we advise you not to wash your hair for about 24 hours and to avoid heavy exercise or sauna on the same day. You may experience slight scalp redness or tenderness for a day. We also recommend avoiding anti-inflammatory medications for about a week so the growth factors can work optimally. Serious side effects are not expected, and our team will ensure everything is done safely.
Results and Follow-Up: Most people need only one exosome session to see benefits. Shedding often reduces and hair texture improves within 2–3 months, with fuller hair growth showing by 6 months. Your dermatologist may suggest a booster treatment after 6–12 months to maintain results, as exosome therapy generally requires fewer sessions than PRP or mesotherapy.
Mesotherapy for Hair Loss
Mesotherapy is another effective hair loss treatment in Dubai that we provide at HealthHub Clinics. It involves infusing the scalp with a tailored blend of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and other nutrients to nourish hair follicles. Mesotherapy delivers essential building-block nutrients directly to the hair roots to strengthen existing strands and encourage new growth.
What to Expect in a Mesotherapy Session: Each session is quick (about 20–30 minutes) and relatively comfortable:
- We examine your scalp and prepare a customized nutrient solution based on your needs. The scalp is cleansed, and a numbing spray can be applied for comfort.
- Using a fine needle (or a mesotherapy device), the doctor makes a series of tiny injections across the thinning or affected areas, delivering the nutrient formula into the skin. You will feel light pinpricks; most people tolerate it very well.
- After the injections you can immediately return to your normal activities.
Aftercare: Mesotherapy has little to no downtime. We suggest not washing your hair for about 24 hours after a session to let the nutrients absorb fully. Also, avoid heavy sweating (intense exercise or saunas) on the treatment day to prevent irritation at the injection sites. It’s common to have mild redness or small bumps on the scalp where treated – these usually disappear within a day. Otherwise, you can go about your day as usual, just being gentle with your scalp.
How Many Sessions: Mesotherapy usually involves an initial course of 6–8 weekly sessions, with maintenance treatments every few months if needed. Many see reduced shedding and better hair texture within the first sessions, and increased hair density by the end. Your dermatologist will recommend the best schedule for you.
